Flirting Tips
Flirting with the opposite sex is fun and exciting for both men and women. Flirting is a way of letting the other person know that you’re interested in getting to know them better while making them feel attractive and special. If flirting is done properly, it could set you up for a first date that could lead to a long lasting relationship or even marriage.
Everyone has an instinctual way of flirting that helps to break the ice when they meet a potential prospect. This innate ability to communicate your interest can be shown in a variety of ways. Subtle ways of flirting are the best way to initiate the process. Once you feel confident that you’re receiving the same flirtatious behavior from your prospect, more obvious and outgoing signals can be sent. Be patient though, you don’t want to get started on the wrong path by being too overbearing in the beginning. If it was meant to be, it will come. If it was not meant to be, it’s better to find that out right away.
Flirting Techniques
Navigate your way closer to the person that you’re interested in. This speeds up the process tremendously when looking to find out whether or not this person is interested in you. (If you can’t get closer, make eye contact to begin with.)
Your body language has a lot to say without ever having to open your mouth. Eye contact is key in showing your interest. Prolonged eye contact and frequent eye contact both have a lasting effect and they give you the indication as to whether there is an initial spark between you. Physical attraction is necessary in any relationship whether it is just
starting out or whether it has not even begun yet.
If you’ve gotten the chance to get physically closer to him or her, your spoken language could make or break his or her first impression of you. Make sure your conversation is light and uplifting which automatically attracts people in general. Be positive and smile. Laughter is always an ice breaker and it usually tends to draw others to you.
Once you’ve broken the ice and the conversation seems to be going well, leaning inward while speaking or talking into this persons ear gives you the opportunity to get even closer. This is when the physical attraction between the both of you can be tested. If it is well received, you’re well on your way. If it is not well received, you know that it’s probably time to move on.
As the day or evening progesses, the feeling of wanting to touch the other person will get stronger. By this time, you’ve somewhat gotten to know eachother and you’re positive that there is an attraction between you. It’s important to be obvious but tactful. Be careful not to scare the other person away by being obnoxious or overbearing. Subtleness in flirting goes a long way. A quaint tap on the knee or arm and a two stroke shoulder rub will make anyone feel your thoughts without giving you those dreadful “fear of rejection” feelings. Its just a simple tap to let them know that you are indeed interested. It’s also a great way to see if the touch is returned or ignored.
Speak with your body. This means using subtle hand gestures while talking. This will draw attention and attraction to yourself and it also shows that you are confident and comfortable with yourself. Flirting tips that include speaking with your body are:
Raising your eyebrows, tilting your head, resting your hands on your hips while holding your shoulders back, winking with one or two eyes, playing with your hair, smiling, love tapping, standing close (you may even slightly brush against eachother) while talking with others in the group, and noticing when they leave the area and come back.
Flirting, when received openly by the pursued, can be an invigorating feeling that makes you feel alive. Be sure to assess the situation as it progresses to see if this person is or is not someone that you would want to get to know better. Always be cautious to keep yourself out of any situation that you can’t get yourself out of. Playing it safe when you’re not sure is always the best policy to have.
